About Golden Child
Golden Child is redefining pet nutrition through an uncompromising focus on health, quality, and culinary craftsmanship. A Miami-based startup, we bring together veterinary nutrition expertise, classically trained chefs, and supply chain specialists to develop food held to human-grade standards.
Our chef-crafted, science-backed Mains and functional Drizzles are designed to support lifelong health. We’re building a brand for people whose dogs are family, grounded in the care that goes into their food and the pleasure of the life they share.
The Role
Golden Child is looking for a Head of Brand & Creative to lead the next chapter of the brand and build the team that brings it to life.
You will own Golden Child’s creative direction across packaging, campaigns, content, digital experiences, and physical activations. Your immediate focus will be carrying our evolving brand direction through the rebrand and relaunch, while establishing the creative capabilities we need as the business grows.
Our ambition includes packaging people want in their homes, original films that reveal the people and decisions behind our recipes, and experiences that bring dog owners together. You’ll connect those expressions through a recognizable point of view, with food and the relationship between dogs and their people at the center.
This is a highly hands-on role. You’ll move between setting brand strategy and shaping the work itself: developing concepts, directing shoots, reviewing packaging proofs, refining copy, and helping the team get projects out into the world.
You will work closely with our CMO and founding team, alongside Growth, Culinary, Veterinary Nutrition, Product, and Operations.
What You’ll Own
1. Brand Strategy & Creative Direction
Own Golden Child’s positioning, visual identity, and tone of voice, translating the brand strategy into clear direction the team can use.
Lead the rebrand across customer touchpoints, preserving what makes Golden Child recognizable while developing its next expression.
Set the creative standard for design, photography, film, and copy. Make clear decisions and give feedback that improves the work.
2. Packaging & Physical Brand Experience
Lead creative development across food packaging, shipping materials, and the experience of receiving and serving Golden Child.
Partner with Product, Operations, and packaging specialists to take designs from concept through artwork, material selection, physical proofs, and production.
Develop a packaging system that can accommodate new products and future retail channels, with clear product information and a consistent brand identity.
Guide the design of merchandise and mealtime accessories as those opportunities develop.
3. Original Content & Storytelling
Build an editorial and content plan around Golden Child’s food, veterinary nutrition expertise, and the lives people share with their dogs.
Develop recurring formats, including films that follow our culinary and nutrition teams through recipe development, alongside portraits of owners and their dogs.
Turn technical expertise into stories people want to watch and can understand. Work with our experts to keep nutritional explanations accurate.
Plan long-form films and shorter edits together, giving each format a clear purpose across social, the website, email, and paid media.
4. Campaigns & Creative Performance
Lead campaign concepts and creative execution for the relaunch, product introductions, and ongoing customer acquisition and retention.
Partner with Growth to develop and test advertising, using performance findings to improve concepts, messaging, and execution.
Translate larger brand stories into useful assets for each channel, including product pages, customer education, and lifecycle communications.
Evaluate work against its intended purpose, from audience attention and engagement to conversi
