What technologies will you work with? We use a mix of established and modern technologies to support a platform serving millions of users. As our products evolve, we're continually improving our architecture, modernizing portions of our codebase, and evaluating technologies that help us build secure, reliable, and scalable software. Backend: Linux, nginx, Laravel (PHP), MySQL, Redis Frontend: React, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS Existing technologies you may encounter as we modernize the platform: Twig, Bootstrap, jQuery We do not expect candidates to have worked with every technology in our environment. We value strong software engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems. What will you do? You will develop end to end, owning features from technical design and development through deployment, monitoring, and continued improvement. You will write clean, secure, readable, maintainable, and scalable code. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and other cross-functional partners. You will design, integrate, and build internal and external APIs. You will develop new products and features while improving and modernizing existing systems. You will write and optimize SQL queries and design relational database schemas. You will create and maintain complex backend services and algorithms. You will profile, troubleshoot, and optimize new and legacy code. You will build experiences that work across mobile, tablet, and desktop environments. You will contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering practices that improve quality, reliability, security, and developer experience. You will ship thoughtfully and frequently in an agile environment with continuous deployment. You will care about our product, mission, and long-term success, well beyond checking off development tasks. You will thoughtfully use approved AI-assisted development tools to reduce repetitive work, explore solutions, and improve productivity while applying your own engineering judgment to architecture, implementation, security, privacy, and code quality.
