We're looking for a talented Legal Counsel with a strong regulatory and product advisory background to join our Legal team in Singapore. The Legal Counsel will be expected to advise on compliance with financial services and payments regulations, interact with regulators and assist in the implementation of broader regulatory change projects and product launches across the Checkout.com group. The successful candidate will be able to handle a busy workload with minimal supervision, demonstrating excellent critical judgment, quick thinking and agility. How you'll make an impact: Support relationships with regulators on license-related matters Manage the legal and regulatory strategy in relation to launching products and services Advise on payments regulatory matters including compliance with payments laws and related regulations across our different jurisdictions Advise on broader regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions, including with respect to group regulatory change projects Advise the business on market expansion, researching and evaluating new territories and applying for new licenses or expanding scope of existing licenses Advise key business functions on new regulatory developments impacting our operations, products and contractual commitments Qualifications Qualified solicitor/lawyer (3-7 PQE) with strong post-qualification experience either in-house or in private practice Strong understanding of legal principles applicable to payments, including the payments ecosystem and payments regulatory and licensing strategy/execution, and to broader financial institutions Excellent time management skills and experience managing a diverse workload and competing stakeholder demands Ability to handle and deliver on numerous high-priority projects concurrently Comfortable with ambiguity, constant change, and a fast-paced culture A practical, solutions-oriented focus to solving legal challenges Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as needed, flexing the approach as the matter requires Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely Enthusiasm for new challenges and skilling up in different areas of law Extra Value Add if you have: Previous FinTech, start-up, payments and/or financial institution experience Experience working in a start up or other fast-paced and dynamic environment Experience working internationally and on a variety of cross-border matters Additional
