Company Description
We’re Checkout.com . You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.
We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.
Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.
If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.
With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.
Checkout.com will grow you faster than you expect - the deals, the pace, and the people demand it. If you've ever felt a role never let you show what you're truly capable of, this is the opposite problem: meaningful deals with some of the UK's and the world's biggest brands, real autonomy, and no ceiling on what you can take on.
You'll join the Solutions team in London and own the technical side of deals from first conversation to go-live. Pre-sale, you're front and centre: positioning the platform, building demos and POCs, winning over the merchant's engineers and architects while your Account Executive drives the commercial thread. Once the deal is ready, the weight shifts: our Implementation Engineers lead the build and you stay close, so your designs survive contact with reality.
You'll work on a modern, fast-moving platform with docs that answer your questions, alongside one of the strongest commercial teams in payments.
People who do well here are curious by default: they pull threads, teach themselves what the job needs next, and act before anyone asks. If that's how you work, you'll like it here.
What you will be doing:
Support the commercial team to position Checkout.com 's products, solutions, and services - and win deals. You'll be a key partner to Account Executives on product, payments, regulation, and tech.
Understand merchant requirements and technical needs, map them to our APIs and products, create solution designs and internal documentation.
Run demos, build "show-me" payment flows, create POCs, customise and create presentations.
Provide thought leadership on all aspects of Payment Performance - Acceptance Rate, Fraud Prevention, Tokenisation, Payment Methods, and others.
Lead all technical interactions with merchants - chats, calls, meetings, and workshops - from first contact through go-live, partnering with our Implementation Engineers during integration.
Support the BID management team with RFP and RFI responses.
Enable internal functions, commercial and tech, with market and merchant feedback on product capabilities. Champion product change and improvement.
Stay up to date with industry standards, solutions, and tech.
Be an expert on Checkout.com 's platform and products.
About You:
If the list below looks like you, apply.
Experience
2+ years as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Consultant, Implementation Engineer, or TAM. At a PSP or payments company is a bonus.
Merchant-side counts too: checkout engineering, an in-house payments team, a payments product role.
Experience in a technical, client-facing role.
Payments and technical skills
We need real depth in one of the two areas below and the appetite to close the gap on the other. If payments is your strength, this job will make you more technical, you'll need to want that. Strong coder lighter on payments: payments can be taught, you'll have time.
Payments:
Understanding of the end-to-end payment flow and the industry's rules, regulations, and schemes.
