Squarespace is looking for a senior Business Development leader who is passionate about the power of Squarespace's platform and products to help customers build their brand and their business. The Senior Director, Business Development, presents a unique opportunity to drive impactful partnerships and shape the future of Squarespace's platform while driving revenue. In this pivotal role, the Senior Director will be instrumental in shaping and leading the Business Development team, driving strategic initiatives and fostering relationships with top-tier partners creating new growth opportunities for the company to expand its platform and tapping into new customer segments. You will steer the team in identifying new areas of potential growth, optimizing the strong book of partners currently under management, and representing the needs of the team and partners to all internal stakeholders. The team collaborates with Legal, Finance, Product, and all cross functional areas, and is highly visible to the executive leadership team.
You will report directly to the VP, Strategy and Corporate Development and will work hybrid from our NYC headquarters office.

Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing team of business development leaders, technical partner solutions architects, operational gurus and partner managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
Optimize and grow a broad portfolio of partners, investing in strategic growth areas of our reseller channel program, payment processing partners and financial solutions, app ecosystem of integrated third party solutions, and all embedded integration partnerships across the platform
Own the delivery of new subscriptions and revenue targets through the reseller channel program, rallying the team to deliver partners and get them to market efficiently
Collaborate with internal teams to identify new opportunities, optimize existing partnerships, and ensure seamless partner experiences across the Squarespace ecosystem
Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for top-tier partners, representing their needs internally while aligning cross-functional teams on priorities
Influence strategy and decision-making at the VP/executive level, communicating market insights, partner feedback, and industry trends to inform product and business roadmaps
Who We're Looking For
15+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, strategy, or product management, ideally in the technology and SaaS
Proven experience managing senior managers, building high-performing teams, and fostering strong team culture
Strong product sense, and comfort with technical concepts and integrations including API-based ecosystems. A passion and curiosity for new creative tool products and their potential to transform industries
Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, able to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams
Experience and/or interest in commercial payments, fintech, marketplaces, reseller channels, or app ecosystems
