As an Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer (all genders), you will play a key role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing environment across our manufacturing and test facilities. You will help establish and continuously improve the health, safety, and environmental framework supporting the production and testing of battery, propulsion system and aircraft. Working closely with operations and engineering, you will combine hands-on shopfloor involvement with the development of scalable HSE processes, standards, and systems. Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials, equipment, and test systems (e.g. battery testing, EPS rigs). Develop, implement, and maintain risk assessments (Gefährdungsbeurteilungen). Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (Betriebsanweisungen) and safety concepts. Support the definition and rollout of HSE standards and policies across sites. Maintain and further develop the HSE documentation and matrix structure. Coordinate overarching safety topics such as waste management, HazMat, and access concepts. Ensure compliance with German occupational safety regulations (e.g. ArbSchG, DGUV). Interface with external safety authorities like company doctor and company health insurance (Berufsgenossenschaft). Support audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and run the ASA (Arbeitsschutzausschuss) and Safety Steering Meetings. Support the setup of HSE structures for new facilities and activities. Contribute to the definition of roles, responsibilities, and safety organisation. Help scale HSE processes from prototype environment to industrial operations. Drive safety awareness and contribute to a strong safety culture.   Your Profile: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Experience in HSE roles in industrial, manufacturing, aviation, or high-tech environments. Strong knowledge of German HSE regulations and standards. Experience with risk assessments, SOP creation, and safety systems. Qualification as Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (SiFa) in accordance with the applicable German requirements, or eligibility and willingness to obtain the required qualification. Hands-on mindset with the ability to work on the shop floor and at system level. Structured and detail-oriented with strong documentation skills. Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach in fast-paced environments. Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams. Ability to balance operational needs and regulatory requirements. Fluent in German and English. Experience with battery systems is a Plus. Experience setting up HSE structures from scratch is a Plus. Fire Safety Officer is a Plus. We recognize that women and other under-represented groups are often overlooked in our industry. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every listed qualification, we still encourage you to apply. Talent and potential can’t always be captured in a checklist.   Why us? Be part of an ambitious team determined to shape the future of aviation.
