Software Development Engineer - iOS

Now, let’s make sure you’re a good fit for the role: Key Responsibilities Drive technical discussions and decisions, ensuring effective application architecture and programming standards are implemented. Design and manage processes for software development, testing, monitoring, and change management, while collaborating with product teams to align technical and business goals. Identify and address technical debt, continuously improving team productivity and supporting the delivery of high-impact mobile applications. Contribute to the design and development of next-generation native iOS applications for premium digital products. Evaluate technical approaches, frameworks, and technologies based on business value, scalability, maintainability, and project delivery. Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the team, leveraging strong knowledge of mobile development tools and technologies. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging development techniques and make recommendations regarding their potential application. Must-have Skills (Remember to include years of experience) 4+ years of experience in native iOS mobile application development. Hands-on experience with Swift and SwiftUI . Knowledge of data structures, system design, and software design patterns . Experience with API design and application architectures such as MVC or MVVM . Experience with declarative UI development . Experience using Git and familiarity with DevOps practices. Ability to participate in technical discussions and make decisions related to application architecture, frameworks, scalability, maintainability, and software development standards. Ability to collaborate with product teams and align technical solutions with business goals. Nice-to-have: AI Tooling Proficiency : Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows. Full-stack development experience. Familiarity with cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase , or similar technologies. Experience providing technical mentorship or guidance to other engineers. Passion for news, creativity, and introducing new ideas and technologies into product development. Background or experience in journalism .
